Enhancing Patient Access: Aligning Diagnostics with NHS Digital Advancements

Diagnostic World is an accredited provider of ultrasound services to over ICB's across the UK and has been delivering community ultrasound services to the NHS since 2012. Our clinicians are UK-trained and practising, with an average of 10 years’ experience in the NHS.
In addition to the standard inclusions under AQP contracts, we collaborate directly with GP Federations and CCGs to deliver tailored services that meet evolving demands. Examples of additional services currently offered in some regions include comprehensive DVT scans (including D-Dimer testing) and ultrasound-guided joint injections.

We offer a range of community-based locations across our represented CCG regions, ensuring equitable access for all NHS-registered patients within the commissioned service areas. Our Diagnostic Hub locations have been strategically selected in each region to minimise travel times, with the majority of patients able to reach their nearest hub within 15 minutes.
Diagnostic World delivers a Consultant-Led Ultrasound service, with scans conducted by both Consultant Radiologists and Ultrasonographers. Our specialist radiologists ensure a robust clinical framework, supporting all clinicians and addressing any clinical queries from referrers.
In accordance with AQP service-level contracts, we are commissioned to offer patients an appointment within 4 weeks. However, we aim to exceed this standard, typically offering appointments within 2 weeks of receiving a patient’s referral.
By providing the service across multiple locations, patients benefit from both local access and shorter waiting times. On average, appointments are scheduled within 5 working days, with reports sent back to the referring GP the following day.
